St. Cecilia Lenten Project

Le Projet de Carême

2018

Unfortunately, just because education is considered a human right, that doesn’t mean every child gets to go to school. According to UNESCO, there are more than 264 million children and youth around the world not in school.

This year, grade six students at St. Cecilia have been leading our Lenten Project on the topic of access to EDUCATION. Students will be learning about how kids in many countries live in all kinds of circumstances that can make it difficult to go to school. Most of these children live in developing countries, where there isn’t always enough money and resources to build schools.

Students can bring in their donations and for every 20 dollars brought in, the class will receive a brick token for their team. These bricks will then be used to build a school in our front foyer. The money collected will go to support UNICEF, a humanitarian agency working for the rights of children. Our contributions will provide hope and a more stable future to the most vulnerable children in the world.

The Lenten project will run from March 5th to March 29th. So let’s get those donations in to build a better world, one brick at a time!

Thank you for joining us as we work together to share what we can spare.
