Dear Parents and Guardians,

Yesterday afternoon it was announced by the Provincial government that the students would not be returning to school for the rest of the 2019-2020 school year. Distance learning will continue as it has been these past few months. I would like to thank our educators who have been working diligently to provide the best learning opportunities for your children. We know the last few months have been very difficult for all. I would also like to thank our community for your positive feedback and comments with regards to the distance teaching the educators are doing.

We are currently waiting for Ottawa Public Health to approve our Board protocol that will allow parents to retrieve personal items for their children from the school. Once we have the approval and a specific schedule you will be notified with details. With a school our size we will need to be very careful in our completion of this task, making sure it is done in the safest and most efficient way possible. Your safety is our first concern.

All Pizza and Milk refunds have now been completed. We thank Mrs. McCallum for getting those out to our families. Next, we will be reviewing our activity fee and refunding a portion of this to our families. We thank you in advance for your patience.

For our Grade 6 students and families, we want you to know that we are working on creating something memorable for the students. We can’t just let them leave St. Cecilia without something special! More information will be shared with our parents with regards to the details in the upcoming weeks.

Please continue to reach out to the school if you have any questions, concerns or feedback. Thank you for your patience and for working so hard with your children. We miss them so much.

Stay safe! Stay Healthy!

Jody Prevost
