Please visit https://www.ocsb.ca/volunteers/ Please send a note to cecilia@ocsb.ca indicating that you would like a volunteer letter in order to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC). We will send you the required document(s) by email with instructions on how to submit the completed VSC to the Board office for logging in their database. If you already have a Vulnerable Sector Check from Ottawa Police Services (because of other volunteer work that you do - hockey, etc.) that is less than six months old, please send in or bring in the original paper copy to the office for our review, it will be returned to you. If you have the electronic version of a current VSC (less than 6 months old), those electronic VSCs can be forwarded directly to volunteers@ocsb.ca. The Board office does not accept printouts/photocopies of the electronic VSC's; they must be delivered in a pdf format. We are required to collect VSCs and cannot accept CRCs. The Ottawa Catholic School Board Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) is a provincially mandated committee made up of parents, a trustee, a principal and the Director of Education. The purpose of PIC is to support, encourage and enhance parent engagement at the school board level in order to improve student achievement and well-being. The parent members of the OCSB PIC are appointed by CSPA. \ The Catholic School Parents’ Association (CSPA) is a volunteer group representing the parents in our school board. We are a resource for school councils and the parent community for information on local and provincial education issues. Through our website, Twitter, and email newsletters we provide updates on education in Ottawa & Ontario; plus we share great tips, resources and information to help parents support their children in school. All parents are welcome and encouraged to join our e-mail list, follow us on Twitter or attend CSPA monthly meetings.
